From high performance mud motors to extreme reach ERTs, you can rest assured we have you covered.

Mud Motors

Motors are the backbone of any milling BHA and performance and reliability are paramount. Our Mud Motors are designed to maximize torque, flow rate and longevity to complete your operation effectively and efficiently. We offer motor ranging from 1 ½” to 3 ½” and can customize the power sections to meet specific operational needs.

Coil Connectors

We offer a wide range of coil connectors to suit any operation: From hydraulic internal dimple to external slip type and in sizes ranging from 1 ¼” to 2 7/8” we have you covered.

Motorhead Assembly Components

We offer complete MHA assemblies and individual components allowing us to configure our BHA’s to each individual customer’s needs. Our Dual flapper check valve assemblies are equipped with high performance seals to improve sealing and durability in high flow applications. Our heavy duty disconnects are designed to withstand high-torque, high flow and high agitation milling applications. Our dual function circulation subs incorporate a ball drop activated circulation option as well as a rupture disc to allow for a secondary flow path, if flow is restricted by the tool string below.

Extended Reach Tools

We carry a wide variety of extended reach tool options including extreme reach capable tools. We’ll evaluate the directional surveys and coil tubing friction analysis and recommend the appropriate ERT for the application

Hydraulic Jars

We carry both heavy duty bidirectional and single acting fishing jars in all common sizes and configurations

Mills/Bits

Our mills are engineered for performance and durability and are completely customizable to suit a specific application. We also stock a large selection of string mills, taper mills, offset mills and bits.

High Flow Equipment

Achieving turbulent flow is essential for well cleaning on extended reach horizontal wells. We carry a variety of flow diverter and regulator subs to achieve maximum flow.

Rental Equipment

We offer a variety of rental equipment to get your well on the way.

-   Drill collars and all handling equipment

-   Slips and spyders

-  Anti-rotating tubing swivels

-   Inline screens

-   Casing scrapers and brushes

Project Profiles

Cement Drill Out:

Problem: A Montney operator had ~1450m of cement stuck in 4.5” casing liner and needed it removed before proceeding with further completion operations. The customer wanted to use the drilling rig on site to complete the operation.

Solution:  A 2 3/8” CDS PAC drill string was selected to run on the drilling rig along with WeDrill designed “Cement Muncher” BHA.  Our BHA design included:

1.    94mm Bearclaw cement mill

2.    73mm WeDrill 5/6 4.7 Mud Motor

3.    Flow Diverter Sub

The float, shoe and cement were drilled out in one BHA run with an average ROP of 35m/hr. The operator was then able to rig out the drilling rig and prepare for completions.

Permanent Packer Removal:

Problem:  An operator in NW Alberta had an OTIS 5 ½” WB Permanent Packer assembly that needed to be removed from the wellbore to complete a workover and get the well working again. The 1970s era assembly was meant to stay put and removing the various components required no small amount of ingenuity and agility. We worked with the onsite consultant and pivoted plans as we encountered a series of challenges.

The operator called us after the on/off nipple wouldn’t release and they mechanically cut the tubing 1.5m above the packer, but it still wouldn’t pull free. After determining the free point was 24m above the original cut, they made another chemical cut and removed the tubing from the wellbore. When the tubing arrived at surface the cut was badly mushroomed, and the joint could not be retrieved with an over shot.

Solution: First, we deployed a 121mm flat bottom junk mill to dress the mushroomed pipe so it could be retrieved. Next, we deployed 27m of 4.5” wash pipe and a dimpled carbide wash over shoe to wash over and remove the tubing in one run. We then deployed our Packer Removal BHA to drill out the slips on the permanent packer and remove from the wellbore. The packer was successfully removed and the operator was able to proceed with the workover and stimulation program.

Stuck Casing:

Problem: A Montney operator had stuck 4.5” casing and was unable to retrieve the bottom three joints. They needed to drill out the any excess cement as well as the float and shoe in order to plug back and kick off.

Solution:  This situation required flexibility and forward thinking on the ground and our customer trusted us to design the right solution. A 2 3/8” CDS PAC drill string was selected to run on the drilling rig along with our designed “Cement Muncher” BHA to drill out the cement, float and shoe. The operator then decided to RIH will Coil Tubing to run cement plugs but were unable to pass through the casing into open hole. It was then decided to complete the plug back operation with the 2 3/8” CDS PAC drill string WeDrill designed a full ID taper mill that could both pass through the casing and have enough flow area to pump cement plugs. The cement job was a success and the operator could proceed with kicking off and drilling the new lateral.

Fishing Frac Collars/Cleanout Run:

Problem: A Montney operator south of Grande Prairie had two partially fracked wells that needed frac collars retrieved before cleaning out each well to ensure that fracking operations could proceed and complete the targeted zones.

Solution: With the frac crew on standby and the clock ticking, we worked with the completion service company to supply a fishing BHA and retrieve frac collars in both wells. We designed a cleanout BHA and got both wells ready to resume fracking operations within hours. Our quick, efficient and cooperative solution coupled with our good relationships with service companies saved the operator time and money. It was a group effort to get the job done and the well on the way.
